About the Team The AI Transformation & Controls (ATAC) team sits at the forefront of redefining how Walmart approaches accounting, controls, and digital compliance. As a key contributor within this organization, you will help shape the future of financial operations by driving automation, AI enablement, and data‑driven insights. Working in close partnership with Controllership, Operations, and Global Internal Controls (GIC), you will advance the Digital Accountant initiative—transforming traditional accounting activities into streamlined, technology‑powered processes that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. What You’ll Do Accelerate Digital Accountant automation by identifying journal entries, reconciliations, reports, and controls primed for digitization, while embedding analytics and workflow tools to enhance auditability and operational oversight. Partner with Walmart Controllership and Operational Accounting to design and deploy AI‑powered automation solutions across critical accounting workflows. Lead, mentor, and elevate the CTS team, guiding team members in the use of automation technologies and navigating accounting and control considerations throughout the digitization lifecycle. Drive cross‑functional collaboration across Finance, Controllership, and Technology teams to integrate accounting processes into innovative digital workflows and enterprise automation initiatives. What You'll Bring: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, data science, computer science, or a related field Demonstrated experience leading in matrixed or multinational organizational environments Strong project management, analytical, and communication capabilities Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with tools such as BigQuery, SQL, VS Code, SAP, and BlackLine Experience working with automation and analytics platforms Exposure to Vibe coding tools and methodologies Background in large‑scale financial transformation or digital compliance programs Key Competencies Collaboration & Influence: Builds trust-based relationships and effectively navigates cross-functional environments Digital Mindset: Advocates for automation, analytics, and technology-led innovation Operational Excellence: Ensures accountability, consistency, and high-quality execution across deliverables At Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Responsibilities

The Senior Manager will lead the Digital Accountant initiative by driving AI-powered automation and data-driven insights across financial workflows. They will also mentor the CTS team and foster cross-functional collaboration to integrate accounting processes into innovative digital systems.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, data science, or a related field. The role requires demonstrated leadership experience in matrixed environments along with strong project management and analytical skills.
