The Opportunity

As the inaugural Forward Deployed Engineer at Realm, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI and the rugged realities of the mining industry. This role is designed for a technical generalist who thrives on autonomy and wants to see their code have an immediate impact on global infrastructure. You will spend time on-site, shadowing operators to understand their workflows and using those insights to build the technical connective tissue that makes AI functional in demanding environments.

Tech Stack and Vibe Coding

This isn't a traditional, slow-moving development role. Realm is an AI-first organization that prioritizes shipping speed over legacy processes. You will utilize "vibe-coding" techniques—leveraging LLMs and AI-assisted dev tools—to rapidly build prototypes, integrate APIs, and manage data pipelines while in the field. Your ability to prompt and iterate quickly will be your greatest asset as you navigate complex hardware/software interfaces and solve urgent operational hurdles on the fly.

Impact and Growth

You will join a senior team with deep roots at places like Palantir and Uber, helping to define the blueprint for Realm's field operations. Beyond technical execution, you will act as a strategic advisor to both the customer and the internal engineering team, ensuring that the software built in the office actually survives the stress of a mission-critical mining site. This is a high-ownership position with significant equity in a fast-scaling, category-defining startup.
