The Role

As an Instrumentation and Controls Designer, you will oversee the full lifecycle of automated systems—from early concept and P&ID development to final commissioning—ensuring that massive cleanroom environments operate with pinpoint precision. You will be responsible for translating complex process requirements into functional control logic and physical device layouts.

Vibe Coding & Technology

Unlike traditional engineering firms, SSOE treats AI as a foundational tool rather than a novelty. You will use vibe-coding platforms and advanced Large Language Models to accelerate the creation of technical documentation, loop diagrams, and PLC architectures. This approach allows you to focus on the logical flow and safety of the system while AI assists with the labor-intensive aspects of technical drafting and data coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• System Orchestration: Develop and refine points lists, I/O schedules, and sequence of operations using AI-enhanced workflows.
• Cross-Disciplinary Sync: Work alongside mechanical, electrical, and process teams to ensure a seamless integration of SCADA and DCS platforms.
• Technical Leadership: Review vendor submittals and conduct field troubleshooting to maintain the integrity of the design during startup and commissioning.
