Senior / Principal Applied AI Engineer (UK / Europe, Remote)

The Mission

GoCharting is seeking a high-leverage engineer to lead their AI transformation. In this role, you won't just be adding a chatbot; you'll be building 'agentic' systems that automate internal engineering toil and eventually become core features for millions of professional traders. This is a high-autonomy seat where you own the full lifecycle—from prototyping in AI-first environments to productionizing distributed systems on AWS and DigitalOcean.

The Tech & Vibe

You’ll work at the intersection of high-performance fintech and cutting-edge LLMs. The stack is centered on Python and TypeScript, with a strong preference for developers who utilize tools like Claude Code and MCP to outpace traditional development cycles. You’ll be responsible for navigating the 'buy vs. build' landscape, integrating the best of OpenAI and Anthropic while crafting bespoke agent loops, tool-calling frameworks, and RAG pipelines where off-the-shelf solutions fall short.

• Automate the Boring Stuff: Wire LLMs into GitHub, Slack, and Jira to eliminate manual engineering overhead.
• Innovate the Product: Build custom AI capabilities directly into a world-class trading terminal used by 3 million people.
• Scale with Precision: Implement rigorous evaluation harnesses and observability to ensure AI outputs are measurable, reliable, and cost-effective.
• Lead the Strategy: Partner with the COO and CTO to decide when to use existing platforms and when to build proprietary AI infrastructure.
