Staff Process Engineer
Veho
About This Role
About the Role As a Staff Process Engineer at Veho, you will be a core practitioner within our Process Engineering team, sitting at the intersection of the physical warehouse world and our product and technology stack. This is an IC-4 individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Process Engineering. Your core purpose is to own the industrial engineering fundamentals, process standardization, and facility layout across Veho's warehouse network — while acting as the critical bridge between Ground Operations and our Product and Engineering teams. You will ensure that what we build in software actually works on the floor, and that operator voices shape our product roadmap. We are hiring Staff Process Engineers as a part of a high-performing Process Engineering pod that is building Veho's operating system from the ground up. Your Responsibilities Will Include Industrial Engineering & Standards You will own engineered labor standards, time studies, rate setting, and productivity benchmarks across your assigned process paths and facilities. You will build capacity models that translate volume forecasts into staffing and throughput requirements, and define what 'great' looks like — measurably — for every process step. Process Design & Standardization You will design, document, and standardize end-to-end warehouse workflows across sort, stow, stage, load, and returns. You will build process playbooks and SOPs that operators actually follow — practical, resilient, and grounded in floor reality — and drive adoption across multiple sites to reduce network variance. Facility Layout & Flow Optimization You will design and optimize facility layouts, including travel paths, staging and loading configurations, slotting strategies, and congestion reduction. You will translate throughput requirements into layout recommendations and partner with Facilities and Ground Ops to implement and validate them on the floor. Bridge Between Ground Operations and Product/Tech — Voice of the Operator You will serve as the primary technical bridge between Ground Operations and our Product and Engineering teams. You will translate floor observations into structured, actionable product requirements — grounding every ask in operator data and real workflow friction. You will represent the operator's perspective in product reviews and design discussions, and partner closely on tech launches and pilots to ensure successful physical-world execution. Network Rollout & Operational Enablement You will own end-to-end rollout of process and tooling changes across the network — including readiness criteria, training alignment, success metrics, go/no-go gates, and rollback criteria. You will be present on the floor during launches and pilots, serving as the on-the-ground SME to observe, troubleshoot, and iterate until adoption is real. AI Tooling & Vibe Coding — Operator-Facing Improvements You will use AI tools and vibe coding to ship workflow improvements and tooling fixes fast — without waiting for developers. You will build operator-facing dashboards, productivity monitors, and exception-handling tools that remove friction from the floor. This is not optional: we expect our engineers to be AI-fluent and to ship real improvements independently using modern builder tools. Experimentation & Continuous Improvement You will design and run structured experiments to validate process and technology hypotheses. You will partner with Business Intelligence to ensure tests are properly instrumented and results are defensible. You will maintain a bias for action — iterating quickly on what works, killing what doesn't, and documenting learnings for the broader network. MHE Integration Support You will support MHE and automation integration efforts alongside Veho's MHE Automation SME — you don't need to be an automation expert, but you will understand how automated systems interface with manual workflows, and you will own standard work, bypass procedures, and training for those systems. What a Great Candidate Looks Like You started in the physical world. You have worked in warehouses, fulfillment centers, distribution networks, or manufacturing floors. You understand flow because you have lived it — you know where bottlenecks form, why SOPs get ignored, and what it actually takes to change operator behavior. You think in systems. You can look at a warehouse and see the end-to-end flow, the constraints, and the tradeoffs. You can translate what you see on the floor into structured requirements for a product team, and you can translate a product roadmap back into an operational rollout plan. You are AI-fluent and builder-minded. You use AI tools and vibe coding to ship things fast. You don't wait for a developer to fix a dashboard or improve a scan quality monitor — you build it yourself. You are comfortable with rapid prototyping and you move with urgency. You are a credible operator partner. You earn trust on the floor by being present, understanding the details, and designing workflows that are simple and practical — not theoretical. Ground Ops leaders see you as someone who removes bottlenecks and makes their shift runs smoother. You are data-driven. You model throughput. You quantify the impact of layout changes. You analyze defect trends and present findings clearly. You do not guess. You are proficient with AutoCAD or similar tools for facility layout design. You want real accountability. You want your work to show up in cost curves, throughput charts, and operator satisfaction — not just decks. Preferred (but Not Required) * Experience with MHE or warehouse automation deployments (conveyors, sorters, scanning systems, WMS/WCS integration). * Experience in ecommerce fulfillment, last-mile logistics, 3PL networks, or high-velocity manufacturing. * Experience operating in both startups and scaled organizations, especially through periods of rapid growth. * Relevant certifications: Lean/Six Sigma, PMP, or equivalent IE credentials. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $175,000 Equity: Generous ownership package aligned with Veho's commitment to shared success Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k); inclusive work environment PTO: Flexible paid time off policy Location: Atlanta, GA | Dallas, TX | Philadelphia, PA Relocation: No H1B Sponsorship: No If you're excited to build world-class operating processes for Veho's warehouse network — and to directly improve the working lives of frontline operators through great engineering and AI-powered tooling — we'd love to hear from you.
