About This Role

Aon is seeking a design systems-minded UX/UI Designer to help lead the next generation of our insurance e-commerce platform. You won’t just be "using" Figma; you will be the primary architect of how our organization leverages Figma AI and Make to scale our design library for numerous insurance sites. You will bridge the gap between high-level product concepts and developer handoff by making our design system "intelligent." This is a virtual role, however, preference will be given to candidates in CST/EST Zones. This position will work CST zone hours. Aon is in the business of better decisions: At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed. What the day will look like: Design System Craftsmanship & Tokenization: Maintain and evolve a robust component library for 50+ insurance e-commerce sites. You will be responsible for modifying the architecture of our Design Tokens (color, spacing, typography), ensuring that every asset is grounded in a Semantic Layer that aligns with our engineering team’s code and our global design system. You will build and refine responsive components using our Design System which is based on principles of Material Design, ensuring high-readability and visual hierarchy. Technical Stewardship of AI Tools: Lead the technical process of "priming" Figma Make and other generative tools on our specific design language. You will ensure that the AI understands our Semantic Tokens, allowing it to generate layouts that are "system-aware" and structurally sound before they are reviewed or integrated into active projects. End-to-End Visual Logic: Execute the full design lifecycle, from structural wireframing to high-fidelity prototyping. You must demonstrate a deep understanding of information architecture, ensuring that complex insurance data is presented with a minimal "economy of words" to reduce user cognitive load. Product Enablement (Vibe-Coding): Act as the technical bridge for Product Managers, training them to use AI-assisted design tools for conceptual "vibe-coding." By leveraging our Semantic Layer, you will empower PMs to iterate rapidly while ensuring their output remains tethered to our actual design tokens, allowing for seamless developer handoff. Component Documentation & Handoff: Produce "developer-ready" documentation that goes beyond static screens. You will define interaction states, variable logic, and responsive breakpoints, ensuring that the engineering team has a clear, executable blueprint that maps directly to our Design Token architecture. Accessibility & Ethical Patterns: Integrate WCAG compliance into the core of every component. You will advocate for accessible hierarchies and plainspoken UI, ensuring our digital products are usable by everyone and avoid deceptive "dark patterns" in the insurance journey. Who you are: Figma Power User: You are an expert in Auto Layout, Variables, Components, and the latest Figma AI/Make features. Prompt Engineer: You understand how to structure prompts (Task, Context, Constraints) to get predictable, high-quality results from generative UI tools. Educator at Heart: You enjoy breaking down complex tools into simple workflows for non-designers. Systems Thinker: You see a design system not as a static file, but as a living set of rules that can be automated and scaled. Skills and experience that will lead to success: 5+ years of professional UX/UI design experience, specifically within complex, data-driven environments (Insurance, FinTech, or SaaS). Experience with Form Design Deep proficiency in Figma and a working knowledge of Figma Make Proven experience managing or contributing to large-scale Design Systems. Strong communication skills with the ability to "sell" a vision to PMs and senior leadership. How we support our colleagues: In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage an inclusive workforce. Plus, our agile environment allows you to manage your wellbeing and work/life balance, ensuring you can be your best self at Aon. Furthermore, all colleagues enjoy two “Global Wellbeing Days” each year, encouraging you to take time to focus on yourself. We offer a variety of working style solutions for our colleagues as well. Our continuous learning culture inspires and equips you to learn, share and grow, helping you achieve your fullest potential. As a result, at Aon, you are more connected, more relevant, and more valued. Aon values an innovative and inclusive workplace where all colleagues feel empowered to be their authentic selves.
