Principal - Forward Deployed Engineer

Orchestrating the Future of AI-Native Engineering

As the lead architect for GSK’s Forward Deployed Engineering team, you will bridge the gap between abstract AI potential and tangible business impact. This isn't about maintaining legacy systems; it’s about proving out high-stakes AI prototypes—from agent-driven workflows to production-ready MVPs—and then setting the blueprint for how the entire organization scales them. You will operate at the very front of the delivery pipeline, turning experimental ideas into architectural standards.

The Vibe Coding Tech Stack

You will live at the frontier of the modern development revolution, utilizing tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Databricks AI Assistant as your primary interface for creation. Your mission is to build robust agentic frameworks and 'bot meshes' that automate the heavy lifting of the software lifecycle. Key areas of focus include:

• Agentic Workflows: Designing systems where AI agents handle execution while humans provide strategic direction.
• Advanced Prompting & MCP: Implementing Model Context Protocol integrations and sophisticated RAG patterns.
• Automated Governance: Embedding safety and 'Code Orange' protocols directly into the AI-driven development process.

Leadership and Impact

This role offers a unique seat at the table with executive leadership, allowing you to influence the AI roadmap of a global biopharma giant. You’ll mentor staff-level engineers, calibrate the technical hiring bar for the AI era, and define what it means to be a Principal Engineer in a world where code is increasingly generated through natural language and intent.
