As a Senior Design Engineer at Chess.com, you will act as the primary architect for the user experience on AI-driven platforms. This position moves beyond traditional frontend development, requiring you to own the entire journey from initial Figma concepts to production-ready code. Your mission is to transform complex, developer-facing technical requirements into simple, elegant, and high-performance interfaces that prioritize clarity and user flow.

AI-Native Workflow & Tech Stack

This team is built for the modern developer who views AI as a force multiplier. You will utilize a cutting-edge workflow to build and iterate at high speeds. Key aspects of the environment include:

• Vibe Coding First: Using Cursor and Claude Code to prototype ideas and ship polished code efficiently.
• Modern Frontend: Developing with TypeScript and frameworks like Vue or React to build robust design systems.
• AI UI Patterns: Designing unique interfaces for streaming LLM outputs, long-running agentic tasks, and complex API interactions.
