The Role

As a Structural Engineering Intern at SSOE, you’ll be at the intersection of physical infrastructure and digital innovation. Located in Troy, MI, you will support the structural department by assisting with real-world projects under the mentorship of senior engineers. You’ll be responsible for maintaining high quality standards and meeting deadlines through efficient, tech-forward workflows.

AI-Driven Engineering

This isn't a traditional drafting role; SSOE is an early adopter of the "vibe coding" philosophy. You will be trained to use Large Language Models and specialized AI platforms to streamline complex engineering tasks. Whether you are automating Revit schedules or using natural language to optimize documentation, you’ll be encouraged to leverage AI to enhance your creative and technical output.

Requirements & Growth

• Education: Currently pursuing a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-accredited) with a structural focus, ideally as a rising Junior or Senior.
• Tools: Exposure to Revit, AutoCAD, and a passion for AI-assisted development.
• Professional Development: Earn $20-$23/hr while gaining hands-on experience in a firm that prioritizes cutting-edge technology and future-ready skills.
